The first rule of Zero Trust Club? There is no trust.

The Zero Trust model is simple. Trust nothing or no-one. Well, at least until it’s verified!

Traditional perimeter-based security used to be enough. But with multiple staff working on multiple devices, across multiple locations… security needs to move with the times.

Zero Trust works in three ways:

• Verify by continuously authenticating and authorising access

• Limit user access with just-in-time and just-enough-access

• Always assume breach!

IDG’s Security Priorities Study was released in November 2020, to show how COVID has changed what security focuses on now – and what will drive security priorities and spending through 2021.

The study found that only one in four companies have deployed Zero Trust technologies, with another 50% researching or piloting Zero Trust. Maybe 2021 will be the year UK businesses begin to fully embrace security in the cloud…
